Guess what? After the run, it went right back to the same old rapid battery drain issue and died within a day. What a joke! This is so obviously a software issue. The battery is clearly fine in both watches but something happens after doing an activity or playing music that causes the rapid drain after the activity is over. I'm in a bad spot here.
The official specs only says 5 hours with GPS and music, nothing about just GPS with no music. My Vivoactive HR did last almost the claimed 13 hours with GPS (depending on outside temperature and type of activity). My Vivoactive 3 Music is much more unreliable when it comes to battery life, both standby and during activities.

same as you, mine already having battery issues since 3.50, doesn't seem to improve after the update. drained 4% within 2 hours. maybe need to reset the watch again. Stairs and altitude is not working as well, unlike my old VA HR i even set HR off, backlight 10%, vibration low, Garmin default analog watchface,

The battery life has been suck for almost three months without a fix, even though I had emailed them numerous times and they promised to send me a replacement, but then stopped because they said they had released an update for Apac region (I live in VN) but my watch is US version. Since there is no update, I had to plug my watch in every night.
