In theory that should hopefully avoid attacking too soon or too late, and I think the faster you move the stick the easier it will be to time. You should also be careful to recenter before doing it, maybe release it briefly just to be sure. But really, experimentation is the best idea.

Answers. Yes there are npc summons. In fact on the first boss after the tutorial level there is an npc to help you. Though you usually always need to have spoken/interacted with them before tehey become summon able. You also need to be embered to see the summon signs. There are a few bosses that do not have NPCs, but the majority do. You can play with a mouse and keyboard. Dark souls just doesnt show any of the prompts. If you go to the keybindings menu it will show the mouse and keyboard controls. But it wont give you the prompts with mouse and keyboard controls. How do I leave the menus? Try right clicking in the menu.

Bring up the equipment menu, under rings. DarkSoulsNut 7 years ago #3. Go into your menu and click on "equipment". There are places to equip your left and right hand weapons and all of your armor. Right under where you choose which armor to wear, there is a section with four ring slots. Click on a slot, then select the ring to equip.

Just practice, the best thing you can do to prevent this. i have played all 3 darksouls games thus far the kick has always been broken. and no amount of practice will every fix it. Nope. Backwards slash is useful tho. I don't blame you. That said, no way to disable it. GQDn.
