I will write it down, because many people complain about san andrea's inability to save game, in win 7 and later OS. For me, the reason had been my antivirus. It had the documents folder "locked" for protection, hence the game was unable to create the folder and data of saved configuration and game's saved file.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Installed Save Game Doesn't Work. I'm trying to use the save file for the Free Falling mission. I'm placing it in the right folder (GTA San Andreas User Files), and it appears in my game. But when I load it, it just restarts the game on that save.
